Stranger Things fans were shocked on Thursday when series star Millie Bobby Brown reunited with co-star David Harbour in the fifth season premiere, despite her making allegations of harassment and bullying against him.

The Daily Mail exclusively reported this month that the 21-year-old British actress had filed pages of accusations against David before filming began on the sci-fi series’ final season.

The statement comes amid ongoing drama following David’s split from estranged wife Lily Allen earlier this year.

There were no signs of bad blood between David and Millie, 50, as they posed together on the red carpet for the premiere at Hollywood’s iconic Chinese Theatre, despite unexpected complaints of harassment.

Importantly, the complaints did not include any allegations of sexual impropriety.

So far the outcome of the investigation is unknown, but this did not prevent the two actors from publicly meeting at the season premiere in Hollywood.

A source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Millie Bobby Brown made allegations of harassment and bullying before she started filming last season. There were pages and pages of accusations. “The investigation took months.”

Netflix declined to comment on this statement.

In response to the broadcaster’s silence, the source said: ‘Netflix would never comment on an internal investigation, but the fact that they haven’t denied it says a lot.

‘Stranger Things helped put Netflix on the map. “Millions of fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the finale,” they added. ‘Nobody wants anything to distract from that.’

Following Brown’s complaint, a personal representative accompanied him to the set of the final season, the first four episodes of which will be released on Netflix on November 26.

‘Lily supported him through it all. It was a brutal time,’ the source said.

Unlike many other streaming services that have recently pivoted to the traditional one-episode-per-week format to spread viewers’ excitement and interest over a longer period of time, the streamer tends to release seasons of shows in their entirety in a single broadcast.

But Netflix appears to have changed its usual approach, releasing a second batch of three episodes on Christmas Day, followed by a full-length finale that will air simultaneously in theaters and on the streaming service.

“This will be a theatrical event,” a Netflix source told The Mail on Sunday. ‘Nothing will overshadow this, not even the leading actor’s private life.’

The source added that it was ‘unfortunate’ that Harbour’s personal issues hit the headlines just as Stranger Things fans were eagerly awaiting a global celebration to mark the end of the groundbreaking series.
