Millions of Australians face wet and windy weekend as two cold fronts hit

Millions of Australians will face a cold and wet start to the weekend as two fronts move across the country.

A slow high pressure system continues to move across the southeast, bringing morning fog and intermittent showers, while a stronger deep low cold front sweeps across Western Australia, bringing stormy conditions.

This deep low cold front will bring the worst of the weather over the weekend as it expects to impact Western Australia with strong winds and stormy conditions.

Sky News Weather Meteorologist Tamsin Green said the harsh weather that started at the weekend would continue into the weekend.

“Following the cold front, we will see a drop in temperature, showers and possible storms,” he said.

While the west is dealing with the most severe weather conditions, the east coast is also likely to face fog and rain over the weekend.

Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Sarah Scully issued a storm warning in Western Australia.

“This deep low pressure system and associated cold front will bring wet and windy weather and even the risk of severe storms,” he said.

Ms. Scully also said a strong, slow-moving high pressure system to the east was still hanging around the southeast.

“It will continue to bring areas of morning fog and scattered showers directing that moist coastal flow to the east coast,” he said.

“Further inland this trough will bring some instability with showers.”
