Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s second-in-command, torched the Laken Riley Act in front of a cheering crowd at a “Stop the Oligarchy” rally over the weekend led by socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
Flanagan, who trails Rep. Angie Craig in the latest RealClearPolitics polling average for the Democratic senatorial primary, is aiming to succeed retiring Sen. Tina Smith. He was also reported to have approved of it. At the Rochester rally.

Flanagan criticized the legislation, sponsored by Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., as a tool that strips immigrants of due process and allows adults and children to be detained indefinitely.
“This was the green light to give ICE unprecedented power to completely terrorize our communities,” Flanagan continued.

While he criticized Craig for being the only Minnesota Democrat to vote for the Laken Riley Act in both chambers, Craig said he regretted his vote for the legislation just last week.
