Minnesota man accused in anti-ICE protest assault says family faces harassment

A Minnesota father accused of attacking a conservative reporter at an anti-ICE protest says he’s overwhelmed by the “nonstop” backlash against his family.
“To be honest, it’s a little overwhelming and makes me hesitate even living in this country,” Chris Ostroushko told One America News Network. he said. an interview It was published on Monday. “I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life.”
Ostroushko told the news outlet that since the viral incident, her family, neighbors and extended family have been inundated with “hundreds of phone calls, texts and social media messages a day.”
Ostroushko, his wife DeYanna, and daughter Paige were seen on camera fighting with TPUSA reporter Savanah Hernandez outside the Whipple building in Minnesota on April 11.

While covering the “F— ICE Day” protest, Hernandez said he was surrounded by demonstrators after realizing he had ties to Turning Point USA, the conservative organization founded by Charlie Kirk.
He said protesters honked their horns in his face and Chris and Paige attacked him. A video clip of the incident shows Chris coming up behind Hernandez and pushing him to the ground.
Chris Ostroushko stated in a previous interview that he was defending his wife and daughter and stated that the attacker in the incident was Hernandez.

“We’re definitely not violent people. We actually tend to shy away from that,” Ostroushko told podcast host Brian Shapiro last week.
The Ostroushkos say their personal information was disclosed and they were slandered after the video went viral and they lost their jobs. They also claim that Paige was injured in the neck by police. They started a GoFundMe with a goal of raising $8,000. It has raised over $300 so far.
Hernandez told Fox News Digital that he sought medical treatment and was told he suffered a concussion and multiple sprains.
Deputy Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon and Deputy Chief JD Vance confirmed that the FBI has opened an investigation into the incident.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office previously told Fox News Digital that the case is under investigation and is recommending charges against Paige Ostroushko and Christopher Ostroushko in connection with the assault on a journalist.
Hennepin County Prosecutor Mary Moriarty has not announced charges in the case.
