Minor League pitcher throws down a wild NSFW celebration after catching soft line drive
I’ve always thought there are two types of celebrations in sports. There are things you think about in advance, and there are things that are more immediate.
But a minor league pitcher taught me that there is another kind of celebration: a spontaneous celebration, but you probably should have thought about that beforehand.
Especially when there are kids in the crowd… or people who don’t want to see a guy hit the grass.

The Iowa Cubs — no prizes for guessing whose Triple-A affiliate they are — hosted the Columbus Clippers of the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday, and things got interesting during the game.
Cubs infielder Owen Miller was facing Columbus righty Pedro Avila.

Miller went 1-2 and hit a low, soft strike to Avila’s left, where the pitcher made an impressive catch.
It was a good play and third strike, so how to celebrate?
Avila had an idea…
Oh my god. Throw some Barry White and have a cigarette after that on the lawn.
I mean, you always want to have a guy on your team who loves sports, but maybe not exactly.
Quietly, the best part was when the announcer said Avila “entertained the kids in attendance with a few spins.”

But even the Columbus Clippers’ social media was at a loss for words after this.
Presumably the post on X included the Iowa Cubs asking “are you okay?” You may have seen him ask: Celly from now on.

They’re not even sure if they are.
It was a wild moment, and I’m sure it’s not one Avila’s Columbus Clippers teammates will let him experience anytime soon.
