Minute’s silence for teenage shinty players killed in crash

One minute silence was held for three young friends who died in an accident on a plateau on Thursday night.

Fort William Shinty Club (FWSC) called two of the young people Fergus Ward and Lewis Knox, and both regularly regular first team members and the club said strong family connections.

The club decided to silence for a minute before both the first and second team games on Saturday afternoon.

Fergus and Lewis died with a friend called Jordan by FWSC, In a single -vehicle accident in the A830 near Arisaig.

FWSC said the local community had lost three young men and that the “deepest sincere sincere” condolences went to their families.

The club said: “Fergus Ward and Lewis Knox were regular members of FWSC, developed in the ranks of youth, and an integral part of the current team under 17.

“Both children have deep family connections to the club.

“Children will be greatly missed by their families, friends and a wider community.”

After a lot of thinking, FWSC said that the best way to honor young people was decided to come together and play the scheduled games on Saturday.

Fort William Football Club said that a similar tribute will be held before the match on Saturday.

Emergency services were called on an accident at 23:15 on Thursday.
