Miranda Kerr, 42, shares a rare insight into her ‘harmonious’ co-parenting with ex Orlando Bloom, 49, for their teenage son

Miranda Kerr shared a rare insight into her co-parenting relationship with ex Orlando Bloom in a new interview.

The 42-year-old model and businesswoman, who shares 15-year-old son Flynn with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 49, described their set-up as ‘harmonious’.

Miranda and Orlando first started dating in 2007, married in 2010, and the couple split three years later.

‘And we both knew that the relationship didn’t bring out the best in each other.’

He continued: ‘When we made the decision to separate, I told him, ‘Let’s always put Flynn’s needs first.’ Like, let’s not make this about us.

‘Let’s choose what’s in Flynn’s best interest. But let’s also make sure that we forgive each other completely, that we make peace with each other, because otherwise it really becomes a burden on you.’

Currently married to husband Evan Spiegel, Miranda has three more children with the businessman; Hart, seven, Myles, five, and Pierre, 23 months.

The star added that although she had moved on, she always knew Orlando would be in her life, so she wanted it to be as ‘harmonious’ as possible.

She said: ‘When you have a child with someone else, that person will always be that person’s parent for the rest of their life and there will be situations where you will have to talk about whether you like it or not.

‘So why not harmonize this? Why don’t you make this place more peaceful?’

Last year, Miranda proved how close both her family and Orlando’s family are when she announced that she had split from Katy Perry after nine years.

Speaking on Australia’s KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show in September, Miranda confirmed the couple’s split was amicable.

‘Was it mutual?’ host Kyle Sandilands asked.

‘Yes, actually I saw them both over the weekend. we were celebrating [their daughter] “It’s Daisy’s birthday,” Miranda explained.

‘We are a big and happy family. Katy is amazing, I love her. “And of course Orlando,” he continued, adding: “If you have hostility, it only hurts yourself.”

Katy and Orlando first met in January 2016 when they attended a Golden Globes after-party, and have dated on and off in the intervening years.

Early on in their romance, they made headlines when Orlando was spotted completely naked while paddleboarding with Katy in Sardinia.

They split in 2017, but their romance was rekindled the following year.
