“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Miss Universe Jamaica alumnus LaToya Malcolm,” the organization said.
Miss Universe Jamaica said she will “never be forgotten”.
LaToya emerged as one of the standout contestants in the 2024 pageant as she competed for the prestigious crown while mourning the death of her father.
She went on to win the Miss Jamaica Bikini International title and honored her father’s memory with an emotional tribute.
LaToya was deeply committed to the Transition Project, an initiative that supports disadvantaged youth as they prepare for adult life.
Current Miss Universe Jamaica title holder Gabrielle Henry was among those honoring her memory.
He called LaToya’s death a “huge loss” whose impact and voice “will not be forgotten.”
