Mittal Hails AI As Game-Changer For Power Sector

Hyderabad: Naveen Mittal, special principal secretary of the energy department, highlighted how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the energy sector from typewriters to digital efficiency. He said that artificial intelligence can complete days-long work in just a few minutes.

Mittal was speaking at a review meeting on AI Hackathon at Hanamkonda on Saturday, chaired by north disco chairman and managing director Karnati Varun Reddy. Different units of the energy industry presented how AI is reshaping business, showcasing current digital applications and future AI plans.

Mittal points out the potential of artificial intelligence to change organizations if applied correctly. He urged departments to tailor AI to their needs for increased productivity. He praised Northern Discom’s steps towards ensuring uninterrupted energy supply. The company has a phased AI action plan that aims for faster, accurate and transparent services.

After the meeting, dignitaries visited Oglapur 400 KV unmanned substation and examined the operation, maintenance and voltage systems. Directors V Mohan Rao, V Tirupati Reddy, T Madhusudan and C Prabhakar, chief engineers Tirumal Rao and Annapurna and other general managers attended the meeting.
