Mizoram, Telangana Speakers Discuss Legislative Cooperation

Hyderabad: Mizoram Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama summoned his Telangana counterpart Gaddam Prasad Kumar in the Vidhan Sabha in Hyderabad on Wednesday; here the two leaders discussed strengthening interstate legislative cooperation and sharing management practices. During the meeting, the two Speakers exchanged views on the functioning of their respective state Assemblies.

In the statement, Lalbiakzama said Mizoram values the experience and guidance of larger and more developed states like Telangana and expressed hope for closer cooperation between the two states.

Kumar also praised Mizoram’s system of governance and highlighted peace and stability in the state as qualities from which Telangana can draw inspiration.

Lalbiakzama also invited the Telangana Speaker to visit Mizoram at the earliest possible opportunity, the statement said.
