Labour-run council issues eye-watering fine over single piece of cardboard litter | UK | News

A woman was sentenced to £ 600 – after flying from a piece of cardboard garbage box. Francesca Poncetta said he was shocked when he received a letter about the garbage in the street in London’s home in Wood Green in the north of London last month.

A few days after the recycling boxes were collected, he said that there was a package on the base of a tree and that it was fined. Ms. Poncetta, who works as a freelance photographer, says she thinks the letter was a joke at first. 32 -year -old claims that he broke all his boxes in the garbage box and believes that the wind should fly the scrap. After applying to the Harey Council operated by light, he scrapped well.

However, he says that the stress of the situation is difficult to get.

Mrs Poncetta said: ım I got a letter on which they found a cardboard piece with my name and address, and they wanted to confirm that it came from my building.

Orum I get too many cardboard boxes with my job, so I wash them all and it was a very windy day, so what I believe was that they opened a very full garbage box and just flew.

“I answered the questions and explained what happened and I thought it was. Two weeks later, I got another letter saying that I was guilty and that I owe £ 600. When I got the letter at first, I thought it was a joke. I thought it was a mistake and I thought it would be canceled.

The letter on August 12 was found on August 6 for the cardboard scrap and said that Ms. Poncetta should pay £ 300 in the first 14 days or will rise to £ 600.

The person who rented with his partner Pierce Rosamond claims that he has tried to object to the fine and that he has been unlucky contacts to both local deputies and council members.

He says he really emphasizes the threat of the fine because he feels that the crime is disproportionate.

“The letter stated that I had to get legal advice that makes you feel very threatening. The first thing I did came into contact with the council, because I thought it could be a scam.

“Everything was absolutely disproportionate. If they blame me £ 50, I was going to pay, but 600 £ crazy.

The fine was canceled on September 15th one month after receipt.

Although Ms. Poncetta says she was finally relieved to see that she was listed, the event still caused significant stress and believes that it should be easier to object to fines.

He said: orum I really value my time as a great waste of time for me and a freelance worker.

“It was a quite a journey. It was a great relief when they canceled. I was very stressful.

“It does not feel just a fine for such a crime.

“They gave me a maximum fine, so it seems to be trying to make money. There is no way to object to these fines, so it’s an easy gain for them.

“I didn’t get any fines in my life, and that’s why I was very uncomfortable. I took the first one for something I didn’t do.”

A Harey Council spokesman said: “Residents have maintenance tasks to destroy home waste responsibly, and this fixed penalty declaration was published after the cardboard street.

“Residents can object to the decision as they are here. After taking into account the information provided, we canceled the fixed penalty notification.

“Our residents and businesses, our streets, and our open spaces to have attractive places to enjoy everyone to deal with garbage and waste dump demanded more powerful measures.”
