Troy Deeney’s Team of the Week: Watkins and Wirtz make the cut

Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool): The effect is very simple: if he plays well, Liverpool plays well. Obviously he scored a goal against a Wolves team that they had to break, a good finish. To be completely honest, you don’t get a lot of credit for scoring against Wolves but he was very effective.

Tijjani Reijnders (Manchester City): He probably played his best game since the first game of the season against Wolves. Not just the goal, but also the impact he had on the game. He is starting to show what he has done at AC Milan. I really like him as an actor.

Florian Wirtz (Liverpool): He scored once again against Wolves – who will probably go down as the worst team in Premier League history – but he is growing into it and starting to fill the form. Maybe the absence of Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak caused players to start playing through him and he started to become the player we all believed he could be.

Rayan Cherki (Manchester City): For me he is the best player to watch in world football right now. He tries things and trusts the ball. Even when he makes a mistake, he doesn’t care and tries again. He finished the weekend with one goal and one assist. He is the most exciting player to watch right now and I say that over Lamine Yamal and everyone else.

Kevin Schade (Brentford): If you score a hat-trick you get into the Team of the Week. It’s that simple. I almost picked Keith Andrews as my manager of the week.
