Modi To Visit Japan, China By Aug. End

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Japan on August 30 for a binary summit hosted by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. Later, on August 31 and September 1, he will go to China Tianjin to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit organized by President Xi Jinping. This will be the first visit to China since the deadly Galwan Valley conflict between Indian and Chinese troops.

Modi recently visited China twice in 2018, first in Wuhan with President XI, for the SCO summit in Wuhan and then in June in Qingdao. In October 2019, President XI visited India for an informal summit near Chennai.

SCO consists of nine member states, China, Russia, India, Pakistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic and Belarus will join the tenth member. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pointed to the first face -to -face meeting between India and Pakistani leaders, and has been able to participate in India’s Sindoor operation in May of Pakistan in May of this year.

During the SCO Summit, Modi is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with President Xi, the second in a year following the encounters they faced between BRICS Summit in Kazan last October. At this meeting, the two countries announced a military separation agreement for De depang and Demchok in Ladakh after several rounds of diplomatic and military talks.

India and China’s relations were caused by April – May 2020, when Chinese troops gathered along the real control line in Ladakh and resulted in the conflict of the Galwan Valley. Since then, both countries have tried to rebuild the ongoing ties to Tibet this year with Kailash Mansarovari pilgrimage.

India continued to provide a tourist visa to Chinese citizens two weeks ago with an important movement for normalization. This watched the visits to Beijing by Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, who emphasized the importance of human-human changes. China was welcomed as an increase in the visa bilateral cooperation.

Modi’s visit to Japan is seen as an opportunity to deepen strategic ties with Tokyo, because both democracy shares concerns about China’s regional military care.
