Moment drug-driver leads police on 140mph chase before BMW crashes into roundabout and somersaults through the air

A drug driver who led police on a 140mph chase crashed into a roundabout and led police on a high-speed chase before flipping his BMW into the air.
Ashley Parr, 35, tried to escape cops on the A64 near York on July 21 last year.
Police received reports of dangerous driving and caught Parr as he was heading towards Leeds.
Parr failed to stop after turning on the blue lights and sped away to evade officers.
Reached speeds of 130mph on the A64 and Reached speeds of 140 mph on the M1.
However, he stopped when he hit a roundabout, sending his car flying into the air and spinning as it hit the ground.
Parr, who was the site manager of a public housing project, later admitted dangerous driving, drug use and drink driving.

The car flew into the air and crashed into the ground before coming to rest on a roadside fence.
Parr later admitted dangerous driving, drug use and drink driving and was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
He was sentenced to 16 months in prison and disqualified from driving for three years and eight months at York Crown Court on Monday.
Police were first alerted to Parr’s erratic driving at 9.10pm when a member of the public reported him driving dangerously in the Garrowby Hill area on the A166.
Checks showed the BMW 3 Series was registered to an address in Leeds.
Anticipating that the vehicle would be heading towards Leeds, officers identified its possible route onto the A64 westbound.
Traffic Constable Nick Simpson was stationed at the A64 Fulford Junction.
Just a few minutes later the BMW flew away from its location and TC Simpson began to follow it.
After noticing his erratic driving, he decided the safest option was to stop the vehicle as soon as possible.
After activating the blue lights, the BMW initially slowed down and moved into lane one, but then made an abrupt maneuver along the scanned markings and continued along the A64 towards junction 44 of the A1.
The driver failed to stop and, after reaching speeds of 130mph on the A64, crashed into the roundabout and became airborne.
The BMW rolled over several times before coming to rest on a roadside fence.
Following Parr’s sentencing, TC Simpson, of North Yorkshire Police, said: ‘This was extremely dangerous driving which could easily have resulted in the death of the driver as well as other road users.
‘We are relentless in our approach to making North Yorkshire’s roads safer for everyone. Removing people who drive in this way sends a clear message that this behavior will not be tolerated.
‘I would also like to thank the citizen who reported this driver. If you witness driving that poses an immediate danger to others, please call 999.’
