Declan Rice is FIT for England’s World Cup semi-final showdown with Argentina after shaking off sickness bug

England midfielder Declan Rice is back in training after recovering from his illness and is ready to feature in Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final against Argentina.

There were concerns about the vice-captain’s condition after he was sent off for a below-par score in the first half of Saturday’s 2-1 win against Norway.

Rice had spent three days in bed with an illness in the hot and humid environment of Miami.

However, Daily Mail Sport understands that the 27-year-old is feeling much better and was training with his team-mates on Monday.

Rice is also dealing with hamstring and back pain but is confident he can start when England face the world champions in Atlanta.

Elsewhere, Ezri Konsa suffered cramping and hamstring pain and was sidelined for the match against Norway, but staff believe this was a result of coming from the altitude of Mexico City to the extreme temperatures in Florida.

Tuchel now needs to decide who will start on the right, with Konsa, Reece James and Djed Spence in contention.
