Moment RAF jets ‘take out’ drone in Middle East as Iran war rages | World | News

RAF Typhoon jets were deployed overnight to defend two Middle Eastern countries, the Ministry of Defense (MOD) said. The aircraft disabled an uncrewed aerial system bound for Jordan and intercepted a drone bound for Bahrain. Additional air operations experts were also sent to the Gulf to provide “an accurate region-wide weather picture” and to assist Britain’s allies with airspace management.
The Ministry of Defense wrote about the
“To support defense operations, the UK has deployed additional air operations experts to the Gulf to provide an accurate air picture across the region and assist partners with airspace management.”
Elsewhere, Wildcat and Merlin helicopters have been deployed to UK bases in Cyprus to support defense operations and detect air threats.
The Ministry of Defense added: “Further Wildcat helicopters have arrived at our bases in Cyprus to support defense operations in the region. A Merlin helicopter has now also arrived on site to further strengthen our ability to detect air threats.”
