Monsoon Delay Likely in Telangana, Southwest Rains Expected After June 5

Hyderabad: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon is expected to enter Telangana State only after June 5.
It was stated that following the effect of El Niño, the movement of the monsoon slowed down and less rainfall than normal is expected this year.
Generally, the southwest is expected to enter the state by the end of this month, but due to the influence of El Niño, the monsoon is expected to arrive between June 5 and 10.
Meanwhile, Telangana continues to be reeling under hot conditions for the last few days, with daytime temperatures crossing 45 degrees Celsius. Vemulapalli mandal of Nalgonda district recorded a daytime temperature of 46.5 degrees Celsius on Monday.
Thirteen regions recorded a maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius and half a dozen regions recorded 45.8 degrees Celsius. IMD predicts that the state will continue to experience hot conditions for the next three days.
