Monsoon tracker LIVE | IMD warns of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in several regions

As the upper air circulation and trough area continues, heavy rains are expected to occur in more than ten districts around the Western Ghats region of Tamil Nadu from June 21, 2026.

In the latest weather bulletin published by the Regional Meteorological Center on Saturday, June 20, 2026, it was stated that a significant change in weather conditions is expected from Sunday, June 21, 2026, and this will lead to the onset of the Southwest monsoon.

Accordingly, heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Nilgiris, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul and Kanyakumari districts and ghat areas of Tirunelveli district.

The data also added that due to heavy rain, maximum temperatures are expected to drop by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius in many areas in Tamil Nadu where rain is expected. – PTI
