Jessica Simpson reveals Ashton Kutcher’s bizarre reaction to finding out she was still a virgin at 22

Jessica Simpson said she will ‘never forget’ Ashton Kutcher’s reaction when she told him she was a 22-year-old virgin during her guest appearance on That ’70s Show.
The 45-year-old singer-actress opened up about the unusual exchange she had with the actor during an episode. Fun Tonight On Thursday, he looked back at some of his past TV interviews.
Simpson watched a clip from 23 years ago while talking about her portrayal of Annette Berkardt, the love interest of Kutcher’s character Michael Kelso, on the series.
In a life-imitating twist, the story had the character Annette tell Kutcher’s Kelso that she was a virgin around the time Simpson publicly announced that he was waiting until marriage to have sex.
On the exchange in 2002, Simpson said: ‘I was shooting a scene with Ashton – Michael – and I was telling him we couldn’t do this because I was a virgin.’
In today’s interview, Simpson, who recently celebrated his eighth year of sobriety from alcohol, laughed off the decades-old clip.

Simpson guest starred on That ’70s Show as Annette Berkardt, the love interest of Kutcher’s character, Michael Kelso.
He said he didn’t understand why Kutcher was abstinent until after he took the oath.
“I’ll never forget telling Ashton I was a virgin,” Simpson said. ”From where?’ he asked.
“I said, ‘Because I haven’t met my husband yet,'” Simpson continued.
Simpson, who is promoting her perfume Mystic Canyon, also chatted with ET about a concert at New York City’s Madison Square Garden where she suffered a wardrobe malfunction and was witnessed by her friend Ricky Martin.
Simpson and her estranged husband, Eric Johnson, 46, are parents to three children: daughter Maxwell, 13; son Ace, 12; and six-year-old daughter Birdie.
Simpson and Johnson, a former NFL player who played for the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints, married in July 2014 after four years of dating, but split after celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary last summer.
Simpson was previously married to 52-year-old entertainer Nick Lachey, while Johnson was first married to Keri D’Angelo.
Simpson previously admitted that her father, Joe, gave her a purity ring to wear when she was 12.
Back in the day, Simpson laughed about the decades-old interview and added that she didn’t understand why Kutcher was abstinent until after the vows.
Simpson: ‘I’ll never forget telling Ashton I was a virgin. “From where?” he asked. “Because I haven’t met my husband yet,” I said.
In her 2020 memoir, Simpson talked about her internal struggles to avoid consummating her pre-marital romance with Lachey, describing it as a constant test of her ‘commitment to virginity’: Open the Book.
“One time Nick hugged me and I thought I was going to burst into flames,” Simpson said. ‘I had to push him away, not because I didn’t trust him, but because I was on the verge of surrender.’
In his book, Simpson said he was ‘very disappointed’ at the time with reporters constantly asking uncomfortable and inappropriate questions about his sex life.
“This gave America a story to follow,” Simpson wrote. ‘The sexy virgin and the long-suffering but still understanding, hot prince. Nick loved the fact that my faith was so strong.’
Simpson, the singer of hits such as 1999’s I Want to Love You Forever and 2000’s I Think I’m in Love with You, said she felt ‘expectation’ did not match reality after getting married.
Simpson wrote in her memoirs that she was waiting for her to have sex for the first time [her] husband… being this transcendental experience where the heavens are separated.
‘What I didn’t know at the time was that everyone’s first time is awkward, and this is part of it. And that’s okay, but it’s hard to understand at the time.’
