Two Indians Jailed for Robbing Sex Workers in Singapore Hotel

Singapore: Two men from India, who were accused of robbing and attacking two sex workers in the hotel rooms while vacationing in Singapore, were sentenced to five years in prison with 12 strokes of 12 times each Friday. 23 and Rajendran Mayilasan, 27, voluntarily suffered the victims.
The court heard that Arokkiyasami and Rajendran came from India to Singapore on April 24th for a holiday. Two days later, while walking in the Little Indian region, an unknown man approached them and asked if they were interested in hiring prostitutes for sexual services.
The man then gave contact information for two women before leaving.
Arokkiya said that they needed Rajendran and had contact with women and suggested that they should rob in a hotel room accepted by Rajendran. They arranged to meet one of the women in a hotel room around 18:00 that day.
After entering the room, they tied the victim’s hands and legs in clothes and slapped him. They robbed her jewels, SGD 2,000 cash, passports and bank cards.
Later in that night, around 23:00, they held a meeting with the second woman in another hotel. When he arrived, they dragged him next to his arms to rob and covered his mouth to prevent him from screaming.
The SGD 800 cash, two mobile phones and passports, and threatened them not to leave the room until they came back.
Arokkiyasami and Rajendran’s actions appeared when the second victim trusted another man the next day when he wanted the police to be called.
During the reduction, both men who were representatives begged to tolerance and a lighter sentence judgment.
Arokkiyasami speaking through a interpreter, “My father passed away last year. I have three sisters who are married and have no money. So we did it.” “My wife and child suffer alone and financially in India.”
According to Singapore Daily’s report, those who voluntarily injured during a robbery may be sentenced to five to 20 years of imprisonment and may encounter at least 12 strokes cane.
