Most school hacks carried out by their own pupils, watchdog says
Information Commissioner Office (ICO) announced that more than half of school and college cyber attacks and data violations were carried out by their students.

Since 2022, ICO has explored 215 hack and violation in educational environments and says that 57% have been carried out by children.

In an incident, a seven -year -old child was involved in a data violation and then referred to the National Crime Agency’s Cyber Elections program to help them understand the seriousness of their actions.
ICO did not give details about the nature of this violation.
In another case, 15 or 16 illegal school databases containing personal information of more than 1,400 students.
The students used hacking vehicles downloaded from the internet to break the passwords and security protocols.
When questioned, they said they were interested in cyber security and wanted to test their skills and knowledge.
Another example given by ICO is that a student who enters the databases of the universities of the universities in detail to change or delete personal information of more than 9,000 personnel, students and applicants.
System, name and home address, school records, health data, protection and pastoral logs and emergency connections such as personal information.
