Mother, daughter arrested in Sydney Dover Heights home over alleged multimillion-dollar fraud

Police arrested a mother and daughter after raiding a multimillion-dollar home in Dover Heights in a dramatic operation linked to an ongoing fraud investigation.
Neighbors told 7News they heard loud screams as heavily armed and black-uniformed tactical police entered the property on Gilbert Street.
The 53-year-old mother and her 25-year-old daughter were detained after police broke through neighboring fences to reach the house.
A Dover Heights duplex valued at $13.8 million was raided by investigators who seized luxury cars, motorcycles and piles of evidence, 7News reported.

The arrests were made by detectives from Strike Force Myddleton, which was set up early last year to investigate an alleged syndicate that used stolen identities to secure loans for “ghost cars” (non-existent luxury vehicles).
The investigation has expanded since its inception to include allegations of widespread personal, business and mortgage fraud, and 16 people have already been charged.

Although police have not yet detailed the specific allegations against the mother and daughter, they appear to be extensive.
Authorities expect to file charges against the women on Wednesday night.
