North Bengal floods are man made, says Mamata as toll rises to 28

The death money in the northern Bengal floods rose to 28 and five more deaths were reported on Nagrakata in the Jalpaiguri region of West Bengal on Monday, October 6, 2025. 23 people from this number were killed by landslides in the Darjeeling region on 4 October and 5 October. Siliguri Mla in the Western Bengal Assembly and the party chief whip, Sankar Ghosh were also attacked. Both Kolkata and the BJP leadership in Delhi condemned the attack, while Msienengee called for restriction.
