Motorists hit with nearly £4m in private parking fines every day

Private parking companies released 14.4 million tickets last year because the drivers urged the government to demolish the “bandit” application.

The number of parking penalties imposed by private parking companies increased rapidly because they successfully challenged a conservative invoice that put into effect a suitable application code to distribute fines three years ago.

For years, these companies have been accused of using misleading and confusing signs, and even if they did not return to their cars, they rejected a period of grace to the drivers.

The data provided by RAC shows that the number of requests made to the driver and vehicle undergraduate agency for information about disturbing vehicles by parking management companies show that the TORY invoice has passed and has increased to three times since the subsequent watered. It increased by 13 percent from 2023.

According to the data, companies released 1,640 tickets every time last year. Since each ticket can be up to £ 100, the total daily cost to drivers can be close to £ 4 million.

Last year, five parking companies published 46 percent of the penalty fee notifications (PCN), Parking (2,300.360), Euro Parking (960.482), Apcoa Parking (960.482), Ufuk Parking (875.833) and Civil Force Ltd (684,864).

The British Park Association (BPA), representing the park and traffic management sector, says that the increase in the number of distributed tickets is a reflection of an increasing number of sites. They claim that only 0.3 percent of private land parking events resulted in parking accusations.

However, RAC objected to these allegations and was called to restart the laws that reduce the implementation of the Penal Code.

Rac Policy President Simon Williams said: “too much unfair ticket is still distributed by operators who don’t have to comply with more strict rules, and too many drivers are still hunting by debt collection companies.

“And if the first objections to the relevant operator are rejected, we do not have a single, independent objection service that drivers can go.

“We don’t believe the parking industry’s claim that PCNs are only at record levels, because they manage more parking.

“We urge the government to ensure that the official code is started with all the protection it has this year, so that we do not see that these numbers are increasing in the future.”
