Move to expel Democrat Eric Swalwell from Congress gains steam | California

A growing number of members of Congress from both parties are calling for Democratic U.S. representative and California gubernatorial candidate Eric Swalwell to resign his seat this weekend following allegations of inappropriate behavior, sexual assault and rape.
Swalwell has denied the allegations, but he may not have the chance to resign before his colleagues expel him. Polarized members of Congress appear to be eyeing the opportunity to get rid of both Swalwell and Republican U.S. Rep. Tony Gonzales of Texas, who admitted to having an extramarital affair with a staffer who later died by suicide.
