Downing Street insisted that Lord Mandelson had published comments defending him, while workers’ deputies should now be dismissed.

In 2023, a close ally of Lord Mandelson said to the Financial Times that Epstein did not participate in the sexual abuse of young girls, considering that the US ambassador was gay.
