MPs jeer as Hannah Spencer criticises Parliament drinking culture | News

MPs mocked Hannah Spencer after she criticized MPs for drinking in Parliament.
The Green Party MP for Gorton and Denton, who was elected almost three months ago, said during Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday (May 20) that he was “genuinely shocked” to learn that some MPs had been drinking alcohol before entering voting lobbies.
There are a number of bars on the parliamentary estate which are accessible to MPs and their guests, as well as those who work on the parliamentary estate.
Ms Spencer faced ridicule when she asked if Sir Keir Starmer agreed with her that MPs “shouldn’t be drinking on the job”.
UK Reform MP Sarah Pochin, sitting behind Ms Spencer, said: “Fix your policies.”
