Multiple people injured after tent blows over at West Virginia ball park

GRANVILLE, W.Va. (WBOY) — At least five people were injured when a tent blew away during high winds in the parking lot above Kendrick Family Ballpark in Morgantown, West Virginia, Saturday afternoon.

911 officials reported the incident as a “mass casualty incident,” but only injuries and deaths were not reported.

According to one of Nexstar’s WBOY employees who was at the scene, on the hill near the ball park, colloquially “Randy’s Back” partially collapsed severe storm warning Multiple people were injured in Monongalia County. Eyewitnesses said at least three ambulances were seen.

Coming right in the middle of the event Morgantown NCAA Baseball Super Regional Between WVU and Cal Poly. The slope next to the basketball court attracted the attention of thousands of fans last week as a free way to watch the team’s postseason play. According to WVU Baseball, the game has experienced a lightning delay since 3 p.m. but is scheduled to go ahead.
