Mumbai rains | Pune–Mumbai Expressway, old Mumbai–Pune Highway shut due do to landslide, heavy rainfall

Due to landslides and continuous heavy rainfall in Patan village near Lohgad Fort, traffic movement on both the Pune-Mumbai Expressway and the old Mumbai-Pune Expressway was severely affected on Monday, July 6, 2026.

It was reported that a family was trapped in the impact area of ​​the landslide and rescue efforts were initiated.

The traffic police have issued a public appeal requesting citizens to avoid any travel between Pune and Mumbai until further notice. “Those planning to travel are advised to postpone their journey and monitor traffic alerts and updates issued by government agencies.”

“We request your cooperation in the interest of public safety,” the traffic advisory said. “There were also flood-like situations in certain areas and on roads in Maval and Tamini Ghat areas, including alternative routes to reach Mumbai from Pune.” Added advice.

Accordingly, the following routes are closed until further notice:

1. Pune Mumbai Expressway – between connecting ring and missing link due to fall of a concrete pillar.

2. Due to water overflowing at certain points of the old Pune Mumbai Expressway.
