Murder in Saint-Léonard in 2023 | The SPVM deploys a command post

The police are requesting the public’s help to gather any information likely to advance the investigation into a murder that occurred on November 30, 2023, in the borough of Saint-Léonard.
It was around 2:15 p.m., almost two years ago, that 911 received a call concerning an unconscious man in a car parked near the intersection of Fontenelle and Jean-Talon streets. When police arrived, they found a 19-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. His death was pronounced on the spot. This was the 33rd murder to occur on the island of Montreal in 2023.
According to our information, it was a passerby who contacted the authorities, since the young man’s car was parked in a double line in front of a residential building – which suggests that the victim had not been there for very long.
The Major Crimes Section of the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) will deploy a mobile command post this Monday to collect from the public any information likely to advance the investigation.
Investigators will meet with the population from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the intersection of Fontenelle and Jean-Talon streets, in Saint-Léonard. People preferring to transmit new information related to this murder, anonymously and confidentially, can do so by contacting Info-Crime Montréal at 514 393-1133 or via the report form available on the infocrimemontreal.ca website.
