The Rio de Janeiro Military Fire Department said one of the helicopters crashed into a car dealership where many electric vehicles were parked and the fire was extinguished.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.

According to information given to AFP by a police source, Tree, who was in Brazil for a world tour and was expected to be in England in September, was in one of the helicopters that crashed and everyone on board died.

The alternative singer and online personality was listed as one of six people on the manifest for two planes shared by the source, who said the victims had not yet been officially identified as they were badly burned in the crash.

Among the passengers next to the singer were a Brazilian music producer, Argentinian video director and Argentinian YouTuber Gaspar Prim, known online as “Gaspi”.

The helicopters crashed into the parking lot of an electric car dealership after colliding in the air in the western suburb of Recreio dos Bandeirantes, setting fire to about 20 cars, according to fire crews.
