MVA-MNS hold ‘Satyacha Morcha’ in Mumbai to corner ECI on voters list irregularities

The Maha Vikas Aghadi, comprising the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP), along with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, held a protest march on Saturday, November 1, 2025, against alleged irregularities in the voters’ list, which the Opposition claimed was helping the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The ‘Satyacha Morcha’ (truth march) started from Fashion Street in the southern part of the metropolis in the afternoon and will culminate at the BMC headquarters, a kilometer away, where former Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, Raj Thackeray of MNS and Congress leaders Balasaheb Thorat will participate, among others.

They are scheduled to speak at a rally at the end of the march to highlight irregularities in the voter lists, such as multiple entries, erroneous deletions and additions. The opposition accused the Election Commission of India of ignoring the issue and maintained that local elections in Maharashtra should be held only after the deficiencies are addressed.

Congress leaders Naseem Khan, Satej Patil and NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule Bhai Jagtap also marched along with thousands of officials.

Mr. Raj Thackeray, along with his supporters and party colleague Bala Nandgaonkar, boarded a train at Dadar station and headed towards Churchgate. Addressing a meeting in Mumbai earlier this week, Mr Raj Thackeray had appealed to MNS workers to use public transport to reach the venue.
