Nottingham Forest: Vitor Pereira announced as new boss on 18-month deal

Nottingham Forest The 57-year-old football player, who appointed Vitor Pereira on an 18-month contract, will be the fourth manager of the season.
The Portuguese takes over at the City Ground from the sacked Sean Dyche on Thursday and one of his duties will be to help Forest avoid relegation from the Premier League.
They sit 17th in the top flight, three points above the relegation zone, after two wins in the last 10 games.
Pereira’s first game in charge will be the first leg of their Europa League knockout play-off tie against his former club Fener in Türkiye on Thursday, before Forest host Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, February 22.
Forest’s appointment breaks a record in Premier League history as no club has completed a season with four different permanent managers in charge.
Pereira is returning for a new spell in English football having been sacked by Wolves in November after 11 months in charge.
He follows Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Dyche as Forest manager since September.
They sacked Dyche after coming into Wolves’ disappointing goalless draw on Wednesday.
Pereira, who won 14 of the 38 matches he played in charge of Wolves and helped the team stay at the top last season, previously worked for Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis at the Greek club Olympiacos and quickly emerged as the preferred substitute player.
He won the championship and the Greek Cup in 2014-15 in his six-month tenure before leaving for Fenerbahçe.
Pereira joined Wolves in December 2024 but was sacked three months ago after taking two points from his first 10 league games for the club.
He started his coaching career at Portuguese club Sanjoanense in 2004 and is in his 15th position after stints in Germany, China, Brazil and Saudi Arabia.
Pereira’s technical staff will include Filipe Jorge Monteiro Almeida and assistant coaches Luis Miguel Moreira Da Silva.
