Singer and music composer Amaal Mallik, one of the finalists of the recently concluded Bigg Boss 19, recently spoke candidly about dealing with controversies in the public eye. In a recent interview, he shared that their impact was felt more strongly by his family than by himself.
When asked how much the controversies surrounding her have affected her life, Amaal told IANS: “My family is more affected than me. Over the years, I have responded to everything I need to. But I have come to a point where I wonder how many people I will respond to. Now people can see the truth. I don’t tweet and react like I used to. Whatever I am, not one hundred percent, three hundred percent, as you must have seen in Bigg Boss. That is who I am.”
When asked about her parents’ reaction and feedback to her Bigg Boss 19 journey, Amaal said that they were very happy and spent a lot of time at her house. He shared that they gently pointed out moments when he could manage his aggression better. The music composer said, “They are very happy. They stay at my house all the time. They showed me where I can control my aggression better, especially the license plate thing. But in general, they are proud. Whatever I felt, they felt the same.”
Describing the emotional moments she experienced in the program, especially when her brother and father entered, Amaal Malik talked about the deep bonds that came to the fore in those moments. He also began sharing stories of his grandfather and mother’s struggles on national television. “If someone asks me about my entire journey, I answer honestly. I’m not afraid to speak my truth. People worry about their image or their followers. I’m not afraid. If I’m telling my story, I tell it fully. My mom and dad thought I might say things differently. Naturally, their perspective is different from mine. They didn’t live in that house. But I spoke from my heart,” the singer explained.
Amaal Malik finished fifth in the reality show Bigg Boss 19. While Gaurav Khanna won the show hosted by Salman Khan, Farrhana Bhatt and Pranit More came first and second. Tanya Mittal took fourth place. Other celebrity contestants on the show included Baseer Ali, Kunickaa Sadanand, Ashnoor Kaur, Abhishek Bajaj and Shehbaz Badesha.
