Mysterious large objects washed ashore on a beach in northern Queensland this weekend. The fire service in Australia’s Queensland state has warned of “potentially dangerous objects” along Forrest Beach, just north of Brisbane.

The Queensland fire service said on Sunday that a 50-metre cordon had been put in place and advised anyone who found a suspicious object in the area not to touch it and to stay away from it. The Queensland Fire and Rescue Department wrote about

“A 50-meter exclusion zone still exists. If you encounter any suspicious objects in the area, do not touch them. Move away and call Triple Zero (000) immediately. The nature and source of the debris are still under investigation.”

The strange spheres are believed to be objects falling to Earth from space, called ‘space balls’.

The Australian Space Agency (ASA) has now said these “appear to be pressure vessels from a space launch vehicle”.

The statement also included the following statements: “The agency has determined their possible origin. The location and characteristics of the objects are consistent with debris from an alien rocket body that recently re-entered the atmosphere from orbit.”

The agency added that it was working with international authorities, including counterparts and experts around the world, to certify the launch vehicle.

According to the BBC, it was seen that teams in protective clothing were securing the ‘space balls’ in hazardous material barrels, while the police maintained their security presence.

Lisa Scobie, owner of Forrest Beach Takeaway, said the local community was curious about their origins.

“It’s very quiet, there’s not much going on here. So to have a lot of extra activity… it’s definitely created some excitement,” he told public broadcaster ABC.
