Mystery over woman’s death at Henley Beach in Adelaide

A man questioned about the death of a 65-year-old woman outside an Adelaide flat reportedly told police he fell asleep on the sofa, then woke up to find her body and did not call Triple-0.
Police were called to the Esplanade in Henley Beach after a 65-year-old Wynn Vale woman was found dead at around 6.20am on Thursday.
In a statement on Friday, police said they were still trying to figure out what happened.
“Western District CIB detectives and Forensic Response investigators attended the scene and investigated,” police said.
“A male employee at the address is assisting detectives with their enquiries.”

The woman’s partner told police she fell asleep on the couch and woke up to find the woman’s body outside and then called Triple-0, 7News reported.
He was questioned for several hours at a police station before returning home late Thursday night.
The man was not charged.

He spoke briefly to 7News from his apartment door on Friday but declined to comment on the incident.
The couple had reportedly only been together for a few weeks and had returned home from dinner in nearby Henley Square just hours before the woman’s death.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, or any information that could assist police, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
