Mystery Sydney local walking around with winning $1.8m ticket after sensational Saturday Lotto win, officials urge winner to come forward
A Sydney man has claimed Saturday Lotto’s $1.8 million jackpot prize; But the elusive lottery player doesn’t even realize he’s walking around with a million-dollar ticket.
A pair of NSW winners, including a Merrylands woman, held onto two of the 11th Division One winning entries nationwide in Saturday Lotto draw 4687 on Saturday.
Each winner pocketed $1,818,181.82
But while the Merrylands woman wasted no time popping a bottle of soda with her husband after learning she had won, the other mystery player, from Belmore in the south-west of Sydney’s CBD, has yet to come forward.
Lottery officials are now urging Belmore residents and visitors to check their tickets and see if they are the mystery millionaire.
The mystery winner purchased his winning ticket from the Belmore Gazette.
However, since there is no registered player account, lottery officials have no way to contact that person to claim their prize.
Lott spokesman Khat McIntyre said Belmore was looking forward to combining the latest major league winner with its trophies.
“Our mystery winner is probably unaware that he won $1.8 million in the Saturday Lotto draw over the weekend,” he said.
“We’ve already shared the life-changing news with the Merrylands winner and we’re ready to do the same for this mystery Belmore player.
Upon hearing the news of her win, the Merrylands woman said she celebrated with a bottle of champagne.
“When I checked my ticket on Sunday morning, I couldn’t even complete the transaction,” he said.
“We had a bottle of bubbles to celebrate, but other than that we were going about our daily lives because it was barely sinking.
“I don’t always play when I see a big jackpot or get some winnings on an old ticket.
“Buying a house is what we always wanted to do and now we can! It’s incredible.
“Thank you very much!”
The winning numbers 4671 in the Saturday, April 25, 2026 Lotto draw were 45, 12, 17, 3, 11 and 14, while the additional numbers were 32 and 21.
Across Australia, there were 11 division 4687 winning entries in the Saturday Lotto draw; four in New South Wales, three in Western Australia, two in Victoria and one each in Queensland and South Australia.
