Mysuru hosts job fair for persons with disabilities

A job fair aimed at providing meaningful employment opportunities to persons with disabilities was held in Gokulam on December 7. PADHA Foundation and Devdan Foundation Learning Center implemented the initiative along with Association of Disabled Persons (APD), Bengaluru.
The initiative focused on supporting candidates with hearing and speech impairments by connecting them with employers from various sectors. As companies offer open positions at multiple skill levels, organizers emphasized the growing need for inclusive workplaces. According to the statement, the event also served as a platform for job seekers to interact directly with recruiters, receive career guidance and discover roles that match their skills.
Dhanya Uthappa, chairman, Devdan Foundation Learning Centre, and Kotera Devaiah, trustee, Devdan Foundation Learning Centre, said more than 100 candidates participated and participants interested in entrepreneurship also learned about government programs and mentorship to help them set up their own ventures. The broader goal is to expand employment opportunities and help individuals become economically self-sufficient.
APD coordinator Santosh Chacko said the selected candidates will undergo an evaluation camp followed by a 45-day free training session. “We identify their talents and provide them with the necessary training, then match them with suitable job opportunities,” he said.
