Naidu Inaugurates Renovation Works of Dowleswaram Barrage Gates

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the renovation work of Dowleswaram dam gates in Rajamahendravaram.
The CM reached Rajamahendravaram as part of his visit to three districts. During 2014-19, the then TD government installed 58 new gates in Dowleswaram dam. Now, based on CWC recommendations, the NDA coalition government plans to replace 117 gates with new gates.
During his visit, the CM interacted with irrigation officials. He ordered that the replacement of the new doors be completed by next June. Thereupon, the officials responded that the work would be completed by Godavari Pushkarams.
Addressing a meeting, the CM said that 64 gates were repaired in 2014 at a cost of Rs 32 billion. He criticized the previous government for neglecting the maintenance of the gates during his rule.
The CM claimed that the TD government has completed 72 per cent of Polavaram works as it is the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh. If TD had continued its management after 2019, the Polavaram project would have been completed in 2021. Godavari water was diverted from Pattiseema to Krishna delta.
He declared that the coalition government will organize Godavari Pushkaralu in a very grand manner.
