Naidu to Visit Markapuram Tomorrow, Inspects Veligonda Project

Veligonda Project is of great importance for Markapuram, Prakasam, Nellore and Kadapa districts. Once completed, it will provide irrigation to 4.47 lakh acres and drinking water to 15.25 lakh people in 30 mandals across four districts. The project will also bring a permanent solution to the decades-old fluoride problem in the region. The project is being implemented in two phases: Phase-I: Irrigation up to 1.19 lakh acres and drinking water to 4 lakh people. Phase-II: Irrigation to 3.28 lakh acres and drinking water to 11.25 lakh people. The government has already spent more than ₹ 5,000 crore in Phase-I. The excavation, exit channel and Connection Channel works of the approximately 19 km long Tunnel-I have been completed. Feeder canal, Teegaleru and Gottipadi Main canal works have also been completed. The construction of the two main regulators, tunnel lining, approach channel and eastern main channel is in the final stage. The government has spent Rs 190 billion on Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) so far. Displaced families in 11 villages are being rehabilitated. After the project review, the Prime Minister will interact with the beneficiaries.

As part of the government’s vision to achieve a Healthy Andhra Pradesh, Project Sanjeevani has been launched to ensure access to healthcare and health security for all. Sanjeevani is a comprehensive digital health platform that aims to provide quality, affordable and timely medical services. It aims to integrate the entire healthcare ecosystem, from Primary Health Centers to Regional Hospitals, from Health Sub-Centers to Super Specialty Services, on a single digital platform.

Sanjeevani’s main goal is to create an AI-powered doctor system powered by digital health records. The Prime Minister will attend a meeting with Sanjeevani beneficiaries and medical staff at Krishnamsettipalli Primary Health Centre.

According to the schedule, the Prime Minister will reach Ghantavanipalle, Dornala Mandal at 10.45 am. He will inspect the Veligonda Project from 11.00 to 12.20, hold a review meeting with the officials and interact with the beneficiaries at 12.35. The Chief Minister will reach Krishnamsettipalli in Giddalur constituency and attend a meeting with Sanjeevani beneficiaries and medical staff at Krishnamsettipalli Primary Health Center from 1.10 pm. He will later address a public meeting at 3.35pm and a review meeting with TDP leaders and party workers at 6.15pm.
