The search for Nancy Guthrie has been going on for two weeks and there is still no sign of the missing 84-year-old.
Nancy mysteriously disappeared from her $1 million home in Tucson, Arizona, on February 1, sparking an intense kidnapping investigation that caught the attention of the entire country.
On Saturday evening, federal authorities launched a rare ‘signal detector’ that could help researchers find the pacemaker.
Beloved Today Show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy, connected her implanted medical device to her iPhone and Apple watch. At around 2.30am on the day he went missing, his pacemaker stopped syncing with his devices.
The ‘signal detector’, a compact device, was spotted on the skids of a Pima County Sheriff’s Department helicopter as it flew over the Tucson area Saturday night.
Investigators’ latest move comes after authorities released chilling video of an unidentified masked man with a gun trying to disguise the doorbell camera on Nancy’s front door.
Many people were questioned in connection with his disappearance but were later released. A series of ransom notes were also sent to media outlets, including TMZ, demanding at least $6 million in bitcoin from the Guthrie family.

In a video released last week, an unidentified masked man wearing a black backpack and black nitrile gloves was seen trying to hide the doorbell camera with his hand and bushes he pulled from his front yard.
A gun was also tucked into the front of the man’s pants.
