Nancy Pelosi’s office sidesteps retirement rumors after NBC report

Former Speaker of the Parliament Nancy Pelosi‘s office is ignoring rumors that he may soon leave Congress.
NBC News It was reported Monday that Pelosi of California “is expected to make an announcement” about her political future after Election Day on Tuesday, with unnamed sources predicting the Democratic political titan will retire at the end of her term.
But when asked for comment on the report by Fox News Digital, Pelosi’s spokesperson did not mention her stepping aside or her long-term plans in general.

“Speaker Pelosi is fully focused on her mission to win the Yes on 50 special election in California on Tuesday,” said Pelosi spokesman Ian Krager. “He calls on all Californians to join this mission to take back the House of Representatives for Democrats.”
“Yes to 50” refers to Democrats’ campaign asking California voters to allow the state legislature to temporarily bypass the nonpartisan redistricting commission to pass a new congressional map that would give the left an advantage in the 2026 midterm elections.
This move is being led by the Governor of California. Gavin NewsomPotential 2028 presidential candidate in response to Texas adopting a new map that will give Republicans an advantage in next year’s races.

An unnamed California House Democrat told NBC News: “I think he’s out there. He’s going to come out overwhelmingly passing Prop 50, and what an accomplishment for him to do that.”

Pelosi has been a powerful player in US politics for decades, as speaker of the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 and then from 2019 to 2023.
He first came to Congress in 1987, after winning a special election to replace the late Rep. Sala Burton, D-Calif.
