Stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze said his next show is about more than stand-up comedy, describing his vision for a Nashville theme park rooted in family entertainment and his hometown.

The actor joined “Fox & Friends” on Monday, less than two weeks before the May 29 release of his first feature film, “The Breadwinner.”

He said his namesake, $350 million amusement park project called “Nateland” was inspired by his first work at the indoor Opryland USA theme park in Nashville.

He said the idea came about when he was reaching the peak of his stand-up success, selling out arenas. He began to wonder what to do next.

“I felt like if I were just to focus on arenas and things like that, it would be too much… I wanted to focus on a place where I could have places where people could bring their families and create memories with their families. I don’t think it’s too much,” he said.

The same ethos inspired “The Breadwinner,” Bargatze said. He wanted a movie that the whole family could watch together.

The film follows Bargatze’s wife, Nate Wilcox, who replaces her as the family’s breadwinner after getting a big deal on “Shark Tank.” Suddenly he finds himself a stay-at-home dad tasked with caring full-time for his three young daughters.

The comic is offering a “Nate fee” for tickets to his first feature film for the whole family to enjoy.

“I’ve talked to all the theaters and we have a Nate sale for everyone… special pricing, lower prices. Just because everything is expensive and we want everyone to come out,” he said.
