National childcare worker register, CCTV trial and mobile phone ban declared in major Australian safety reform | Australian education

After the states and regions have met with the British Society of Nations, children care employees will be added to a national registry after agreing their database, new compulsory security training, a CCTV experiment and personal mobile phones in centers.

Commonwealth announced that the government will put $ 189 million in the security revision that the work would start immediately. CCTV pilot trial is expected to be established in 300 centers throughout the country.

States and regions said that the meeting should be resulted in urgent and concrete actions to increase child safety before Friday.

Education Minister Jason Clare said the CCTV hearing will start between October or November. The security training regime for child care employees will be launched at the beginning of next year.

Clare is everything we need to do? No, no, not, but the next thing we have to do, ”CLE said a press conference.

In recent months, after a series of terrible exploitation claims in child care environments, governments are under great pressure. Clare said that all government and industrial levels should take steps to improve standards.

“During the last few weeks, we have made some changes to keep our children safe, but not enough and not fast enough… We should all steps here, if we are serious about keeping our children safe, this means that the Australian government accelerated, the rise of states and regions and our centers have risen.”

Concerns about how the system could capture the red flag behavior has increased.

Clare said that the new registry will be released by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) as of February 2026. The system said that the system would monitor and detect the workers moving between the centers and will eventually place the information working with children. However, Clare admitted that there would be no silver bullets.

“Over time, we want to create all this information [the register] Thus, we can see the history of employment, so that we can have the information needed to describe red flags to tell us that someone quickly moves from the center to the center in order to determine that someone moves from the center to the center and that someone may not be good.

He said that none of them had a “security guarantee .. “But if we’re going to keep our children safe, it’s an important component in what we need to do.”

The ministers also agreed that the British community officers have completed a 1600 spot visit, which was marked by the government.

In 2015, Commonwealth acknowledged that reforms were very slow with some suggestions to improve child care safety based on the Royal Commission. He had made a series of suggestions for early childcare services and forced working with children to nationalize.

At the beginning of August, the state, the region and the federal lawyers held a meeting to discuss working with children’s checks by accepting a more national consistent approach. However, they did not accept a national system, ie the controls in some states will remain stronger than others.

The government also chose 37 Children’s Care centers that did not meet the standards after passing through Parliament in July.

Clare said that if the standards do not heal under the new powers of the Nations within six months, these centers will face the risk of losing access to childcare care subsidies.

“I think most parents will accept the claim that the taxpayers will be deposited in order to operate at the Early Education and Care Center. He will accept the claim that we expect them to meet the standards and keep our children safe. Basically, the entire legislation is already reporting 37 centers.” Future. “

On Wednesday, Victoria published a Snap review by former South Australian Prime Minister Jay Weatherill and senior Victoria bureaucrat Pam White. All of them made 22 suggestions accepted by the Victoria government, but half were directed to the federal government.

Victoria Children’s Children’s Minister Lizzie Brandthorn said, “There is really a risk where there are vulnerable systems and vulnerable people. And thus we can build national systems that will keep children safe between the children and the sectors working with children and the sectors working.”
