According to the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania, NATO warplanes rushed into the airspace near the borders of the Baltic States to escort a Russian aircraft that violated flight rules.
NATO police jets took off four times between 13 and 19 April to detect and remove Russian aircraft.
On April 13, planes flew to detect IL-20 aircraft.
It was flying in international airspace from the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation.
However, without a transponder being turned on, a flight plan in place, and radio communication with the Regional Air Traffic Control Center (RATC) established, the jet violated flight rules.
Another aircraft was identified by NATO as AN-26.

The Ministry of National Defense noted that this plane’s transponder was open and it was communicating by radio, but it did not have a flight plan.
The next day, on 14 April, NATO air police jets flew to detect the IL-20 aircraft.
On April 15, NATO took to the skies again to detect two SU-30SM aircraft.
These planes violated flight rules once again by flying on the same route to and from Russia.
NATO warplanes took off again on April 17 and flew to detect the IL-20 aircraft.
The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania said that this jet violated flight rules, traveled in international airspace without its transponder turned on, without a flight plan and did not maintain radio contact with RSVC.
The jet was traveling from the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation.

It comes as Russian defense ministry TV channel Zvezda admitted that NATO fighters were monitoring the bombers on a four-hour mission in international waters.
The report said, “At certain stages of the route, the plane was escorted by warplanes from foreign states.” “All flights are operated in strict accordance with international rules on the use of airspace.”
The trips came amid allegations that Finland and the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania allowed their airspace to be used by Ukrainian drones that attacked major Russian oil ports.
Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu warned about Russia’s “natural right” to self-defense.
Shoigu reportedly issued a “final” warning that the Baltic states should not make the “mistake” of acting with “impunity” against Russia, with Putin’s authority.
