Nauru directs Australian funds to offices led by president and son

The bulk of the first tranche of money from Australia’s deportation deal with Nauru went to offices controlled by the country’s president and his son, who is also a member of the two-man committee that oversees the funds, according to estimation evidence and Nauruan documents. Crikey.
The allocation of Australian funds for offices controlled by or linked to President David Adeang and his son Damon Adeang was raised in Senate estimates yesterday afternoon, with questions about whether conflict of interest procedures were followed.
