Project leader Jessica Paton named Metro Tasmania’s new CEO

Tasmanian Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Kerry Vincent said Paton’s experience with the council and Queensland Rail, where he worked on Cross River Rail and the new European signaling system, had served him well in managing the state’s bus system.

“At Brisbane City Council, Ms Paton leads a multi-disciplinary branch involving more than 200 staff and contractors,” he said.

“His work covers strategic network planning, security and risk, workforce training, network planning and event transport operations.

“We are at an exciting time in Metro history with a number of important projects and I welcome Ms Paton to this role.”

A comment was requested from Paton, who will start his new position on January 19.
