NDA Is A Circus That Will Dismantle Its Tent After Polls: CM

Chennai: Comparing the NDA in Tamil Nadu to a circus whose tents will be dismantled after the show is over and each of the participants will go their own way, Chief Minister MK Stalin said the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance is built on principles and has stood the test of time as the longest surviving alliance in the State as it was launched ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections based on the principles of defeating the fascist BJP.

Addressing a training program for poll officials in the western region covering 14 party constituencies and 39 Assembly seats on Friday, Stalin told the participants that they should aim to get 2.5 crore votes for the alliance in the coming elections; This led to each of them garnering 40 to 50 votes for the party and repeating the victory achieved in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

He asked the party functionaries to try hard till the elections are over by organizing street corner campaigns and public meetings, going door to door and using social media to enlighten the voters about the BJP which is against development and using AIADMK as its branch in the hope of growing with this strength.

Pointing out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had praised former Prime Minister J Jayalalithaa as she had nothing special to write home about her party’s achievements in the last 12 years, Stalin reminded him of Jayalalithaa’s famous challenge to them, asking who is greater: ‘Gujarat Modi or this Lady?’ and also recalled a statement by Modi’s Home Minister Amit Shah, who said that the AIADMK was involved in corruption at the highest level.

Posing a series of pointed questions to the BJP Government, accusing it of betraying the interests of Tamil Nadu, depriving it of due funds and rights on various fronts and rejecting justifiable development projects, he said AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has emerged as the biggest traitor by aligning himself with the BJP, which, driven by hatred, has committed evils against Tamil Nadu.

He said it was their imperative duty to expose the alliance between Tamil traitors and enemies of the Tamil people and give them a disastrous defeat in the elections and told DMK cabinet level operatives that the court had cleared former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ministerial colleague Manish Sisodia to launch an attack on the BJP.

He asked whether the persecution of two leaders of the Aam Aadmi party in Delhi could be reversed and fresh elections held there, and said the BJP wanted to repeat the same formula in Tamil Nadu. He said that since DMK has now succumbed to such threats, people and other political parties are also supporting the alliance.
