Somalia-born man, 34, is charged with attempted murder after five people were struck by a car in London
A Somali-born Briton has been charged with attempted murder after a car crash injured five pedestrians in London.
Timir Ahmed Mohamed, 34, of Grange Park, Ealing, was arrested and will appear in court on Monday morning.
He is also charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a breath sample for analysis and criminal damage.
It follows a police investigation into a serious collision in Ealing Broadway in which five people were injured after being hit by a car.
Three people were taken to hospital after the collision, which occurred around 14.30 on Saturday.
Photos from the scene show a major emergency response, with one victim sitting on the curb while being treated by paramedics.
In the footage, it can be seen that the surrounding people tried to stop the car, then chased after it and tried to open the door as it sped away.
A witness on a local Ealing Facebook group said the car ‘came out of nowhere’ before crashing into people waiting at the pedestrian crossing.

London Counter Terrorism Police (CTP) carried out the initial investigation but the incident is not being treated as terrorism.
A man has been charged with dangerous driving and attempted murder, the Metropolitan Police said.
Police added that the man did not remain at the scene but was allegedly stopped “a short time later” in nearby Grange Park.
While it was learned that the injuries were not life-threatening, two people who were not hospitalized were treated at the scene.
Police said: ‘Due to the nature of the incident, local police officers were in contact with officers from London Counter Terrorism Police as they carried out their initial investigations.
‘Whilst investigators are keeping an open mind about any potential motive, the incident is not being treated as terrorism.
‘There are road closures in the area and may remain closed for some time while police investigations continue.’
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service added: ‘We were called to reports of a road traffic accident on Ealing Broadway, W5, at 2.29pm today (27 June).
‘We deployed a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics in rapid response cars, a volunteer emergency response team and an incident response officer. We also sent the London Air Ambulance.
‘We treated three patients at the scene and took one to a major trauma center primarily by road. ‘The other two patients were taken to a local hospital.’
