Neo-Nazi Joel Davis to make fourth bail application over alleged message urging MP’s ‘rhetorical rape’

Neo-Nazi Joel Davis is set to make a fourth bid for bail after allegedly encouraging his supporters to “rhetorically rape” a federal MP, a court has heard.

Mr Davis, a former member of the now-defunct National Socialist Network (NSN), has been detained in NSW since his arrest on November 20.

He was accused of using his transport service to harass a federal MP for allegedly tweeting against Allegra Spending after she condemned an NSN rally outside state parliament.

While Mr Davis was due to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on unrelated charges on Monday morning, the court was told an adjournment had been requested.

Judge Vincenzo Caltabiano was told Mr Davis would make a fresh application for bail in NSW for a fourth time on April 15.

In Victoria, Mr Davis was charged alongside former NSN leader Thomas Sewell, 32, Nathan Bull, 24, and Timothy Lutze, 35, for allegedly disrupting a pro-refugee demonstration in Docklands on October 22, 2024.

All four defendants were charged with offensive behavior after a group of around 20 black-clad men interrupted a protest by Tamil asylum seekers demanding permanent visa protection outside the Home Office.

Mr Davis is also accused of inciting racist insult following an alleged anti-Semitic demonstration outside a Kew polling booth ahead of the 2025 federal election.

In court, Mr Lutze asked for his case to be adjourned to obtain legal advice, and Mr Sewell and Mr Bull said they would prefer their case to be pursued alongside theirs.

Mr. Caltabiano accepted the offer and the four will appear in court on July 10.

Outside the court Mr Sewell made an expletive-laced speech to the media and was heckled by several passersby.
